Closed Captioning Services in Madison, Wisconsin

Yes, and work from Madison is handled entirely online: files are uploaded or shared as a link, and the finished work returns by email. Clients across Wisconsin order the same way and pay the same published rates as anywhere else. A single short video is a normal order here, including a trailer or a social cut.

Three groups account for most of it: state government and the Capitol; university research departments; and biotech and health-technology companies. What they share is material someone else will rely on, so the closed captioning has to match the source exactly. Most of the work here is for teams with an accessibility requirement to meet, not simply a preference.

The 99+% accuracy standard comes from human work plus an independent check: one captioner produces the file, and then a second reviewer plays the file back against the picture. Local detail is where a distant supplier slips - street names in Madison, the institutions around it, the bodies people file with across Wisconsin - so those are checked against the source. Every file is played back on screen before release, because a caption that reads correctly can still land on the wrong shot. That second pass is what catches a caption that lands late or a speaker change that is never marked.

Access is the control that matters, so it is kept to the assigned pair and nobody else. Unreleased video is routine here, so review links are restricted and nothing is held longer than the project needs. A lot of what arrives from Madison comes from university research departments, where the material is sensitive, so restricted access is the default. Transfer is encrypted, every person involved is under NDA, and files are deleted on request once you no longer need them held.

Whichever the platform requires: SRT, VTT, SCC, STL or burned in. Everything is returned by email in the format you asked for, which is why clients in Madison never need to collect anything. Several formats can come out of one order, so the same material reaches a streaming service, a broadcaster and a learning platform without being rebuilt.

Most closed captioning orders here connect to university research departments. A steady stream also comes from state government and the Capitol. The recurring risk on this material is a caption that lands late or a speaker change that is never marked, which is why a second reviewer checks the file against the source before it is sent.

Yes, in 100+ languages. Around Madison the usual ones are Spanish, Hmong and Chinese, each handled by a native speaker and checked by a second one. The language changes who does the closed captioning, not what is delivered or what it costs.

There is no office to visit. Upload, email or share a cloud link, and the finished closed captioning is returned by email, usually without anyone needing to speak to you at all unless something in the material needs a decision. Clients across Wisconsin work this way, and so do clients nowhere near it.

Captioning is quoted per minute of runtime. What moves the figure is the runtime, whether the audio has to be timed from scratch and the caption standard you publish to, so the quote is built from your actual files and not from a rate card. Being in Madison changes nothing about the rate, because the same published prices apply across Wisconsin and everywhere else. You get an exact total in writing before anything starts.

Rush delivery within 2 to 24 hours is available, and the delivery time is confirmed in writing before you pay. Because orders from Madison are handled online, nothing waits on a courier, an appointment or office hours. If a deadline cannot be met you are told at quoting stage, not on the day.
